چکیده
Abstract Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety (GAD) are highly debilitating often co-morbid disorders. The disorders exhibit partly overlapping dysregulations on the behavioral neurofunctional level. determination of disorder-specific may therefore promote neuro-mechanistic diagnostic specificity. In order to determine alterations in domain emotion-cognition interactions present study examined emotional context-specific inhibitory control treatment-naive MDD (n = 37) GAD (n = 35) patients healthy controls (n = 35). On level but not exhibited impaired irrespective context. neural level, MDD-specific attenuated recruitment inferior/medial parietal, posterior frontal, mid-cingulate regions during were found negative a stronger engagement left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex relative MDD. Overall findings from suggest disorder- major depression point depression-specific neuropathological marker.

Thought Control Strategies in Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder and Their Relationships with Trait Anxiety
Objective: The present study aims to investigate thought control strategies in Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and the relationship of these metacognitive strategies with trait anxiety, as a construct of emotional vulnerability. Methods: 60 patients with diagnosis of GAD and MDD and 30 control subjects (nonpatients) were selected from the university stude...
متن کاملInvestigating Cognitive Control and Repetitive Thinking in Clinical Groups With Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Objective: Some theories state that a deficiency in cognitive control makes people more vulnerable to the occurrence of repetitive negative thoughts. The present study was done to investigate the association between cognitive control based on switching and inhibition and repetitive thinking of rumination and worry and major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Methods: Thirty ...

BACKGROUND This investigation examines differences in cognitive profiles in subjects with major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). METHODS Data were used from subjects with current MDD (n = 655), GAD (n = 107) and comorbid MDD/GAD (n = 266) diagnosis from the Netherlands Study of Depression and Anxiety (NESDA). The Composite Interview Diagnostic Instrument was u...

متن کاملCommon abnormalities and disorder-specific compensation during implicit regulation of emotional processing in generalized anxiety and major depressive disorders.
OBJECTIVE Anxiety and depressive disorders are both associated with abnormalities in the processing and regulation of emotion. However, little is known about the similarities and differences between anxiety and depression at the neural level. The authors examined emotional conflict processing using a salient stimulus associated with observable and interpretable behavioral outcomes and with acti...
